Skills Day weekend is here!

I've got a great plan in place, and we will have 1 final training day on Saturday before our last 2 races of the season. (Skills Day GS, Sunday afternoon, and Governors Cup on March 23!)

Remember, register on line (or bring cash day of) for Skills Day (yes, even Loon kids have to pay for our Skills Day) .

And register for Governors Cup here:

There will be "old-people" age groups for Governors, so sign up yourself and try racing! (Don't be upset if your U10 beats you though! :)

Saturday will be business as usual, directed free skiing in the AM and GS training in the afternoon. Any parents who signed up for Governors can practice GS with us in the afternoon.

Sunday is our big day! Here is how I've laid out the schedule:

7:30 – 8:00 Registration – Competition Center

8:00 Coaches Meeting – Competition Center deck

8:15 Split Into Groups – Meet outside Competition Center

8:30- 11:15 Ski, explore, and practice skills

11:15 – 12:15 Lunch

12:15 Athletes meet with coaches – Ride Kanc Quad for race

12:30 – 1:00 Course Inspection – Start on Coolidge Street

1:00 – 2:15 Two Runs of Giant Slalom

2:30 Wrap up – Competition Center Deck

We are the hosts this weekend, so all of our U10s will be helping our visiting coaches and friends navigate around the mountain. I'm hoping every kid steps up to this challenge and represents the best of LRT & Loon.

Don't get discouraged by tomorrow's rain. It's going to be a GREAT WEEKEND TO SKI! :)
