Kanc Training at the Kanc Ski Slope

Kanc Training will take place on Sunday afternoons starting in January!

The 'Kanc' is the local ski slope in town. The Kanc has produced several outstanding ski racers and is the home of the Lin-Wood Ski Team.  It features a high speed rope tow and 221' vertical feet.  Loon Race Team takes full advantage of the Kanc and is thankful for the town of Lincoln for providing an opportunity for LRT athletes to pursue their passion of ski racing.

LRT Assistant Program Director Aaron Loukes is in charge of this program and feel free to reach out to him with any questions.

About the Kanc Recreation Area

Lincoln, New Hampshire

Status: Open
First Season: 1940s
Vertical Drop: 221 feet
Standing Lifts: Surface lift

Located not too far from the Kancamagus Highway, the Kanc Recreation Area is a small ski area owned by the Town of Lincoln.

Opened circa 1946 as the Lincoln Ski Tow, and following the demise of the Grandview Slope in Woodstock, the Kanc Recreation Area became the go-to ski area for local youth. It has been kept in operation for decades by locals with the help of nearby Loon Mountain.

The Kanc has snowmaking, grooming, and night skiing on the main slope, and features a high speed rope tow that serves that slope and a side trail. A slope without lift service is available for novice skiers and for sledders.
