MEMBERSHIPS & LICENSES

All Loon Race Team athletes must obtain a license from U.S. Ski & Snowboard - the deadline is October 15, 2025, and a late fee will apply after this date.

Rut Riders will need to purchase a U.S. Ski & Snowboard General License, all others racers will need a Competitor's  License.

U10 athletes and older must also register for a New Hampshire Alpine Racing Association (NHARA) Competitor's Membership.  NHARA memberships are now completed as a part of your U.S. Ski & Snowboard registration.

  • During the USSA registration process, it will ask for the member's "State & Club" affiliation. Selecting "New Hampshire” as the state will ensure that the member is also registered with NHARA.

  • Once your USSA membership is in your cart, a "Division/State Dues" item is also added to the cart if the membership includes a NHARA membership fee.

LRT Midweek CAMPS

LRT Midweek Camps gives our athletes additional skiing and training on select midweek days throughout the winter. This more intensive midweek skiing will create academy-style training for LRT athletes. The need for additional days on snow has been seen as an important piece of LRT and these camps will offer the athletes additional skill development.

The LRT Camp schedule will be announced before the start of the winter. The cost for these camps is not included in the program registration fee.

Each camp will have a specified age range.

You can find more information on our Training & Camps page.

DIBs Race Work Obligation

Hosting races provides funding for our program, helps to keep membership costs low and contributes to the success of New Hampshire Alpine Race Association (NHARA).

Race work days are an opportunity for parents to get to know each other, participate in the LRT community, and watch their child and all racers compete. Through your participation, you will gain a better understanding of the skill of your racer and the demanding sport of ski racing. Many alumnae and alumnae parents return to help run our races. Once you work a few events and join the camaraderie of race day, you will understand why.

Who Must Work

Each family typically has a 3 credit race work commitment.  Having multiple athletes in the program does not require more than 3 race credits.

Families with only Rut Riders and no older athletes typically has a 2 credit race work commitment. This may change as the race schedule is finalized.

How to Fulfill Your Credits

We call credits "DIBs". One parent working a race counts for 1 race credit, or 1 DIB. Two parents working a race counts for 2 DIBs. Race work can include gate keeping, timing, course maintenance, registration, etc.

What If I Can't Fulfill the Race Obligation?

If you are unable to fulfill your credits at races, you have the option of buying out your season obligation for $800 during registration.
