About Us

Our Mission

To provide the best possible high performance youth ski racing program by sustaining a supportive, family-friendly environment in which our athletes can grow and challenge themselves.  We prepare each athlete to compete at their fullest potential while developing a life-long love of the sport of alpine skiing.

Loon Race Team - Skiing our fastest when it matters the most

General Program Goals

  • Hard work and team sportsmanship are the ultimate means to success. All coaches and athletes approach training with preparation, commitment, and determination, to reach their individual goals.

  • To provide an environment that allows every skier to succeed athletically.

  • To offer tools and resources that provide an opportunity to learn when athletes are not training at Loon.

  • To create a community-learning environment that includes coaches, staff, parents and team members.  To nurture and encourage athletes who commit themselves fully to enthusiastic training and competition in ski racing and in their other interests.

  • To provide coaching appropriate to every athlete’s skill level.

The Loon Race Team Philosophy

The LRT program focuses on the individual athlete. We work closely with each member to empower him or her in their own learning process.

We focus on long term goals rather than shorter-term shortcuts to facilitate every athlete in reaching their potential.

We strive to excel at every level of competition to generate the best, most versatile young ski racers in the state.

Collaboration, communication, and respect among staff and athletes are fundamental to all our programs.
